Importing clients & jobs (CSV)
The Import wizard (sidebar → Import) turns CSV exports into your client directory. It is the entry funnel for dormant detection — more data means more found revenue.
No subscription required to upload. Import is free on all plans (row limits apply at the plan level).
Open the wizard
Section titled “Open the wizard”- Click Import in the sidebar.
- Drop a CSV file or paste CSV text into the text area.
- ArborBuddy analyzes your columns and builds a preview.
- Review the mapping, then import.
How column mapping works

ArborBuddy remembers your column template after the first successful AI-mapped import.
Large files (501+ rows)
Section titled “Large files (501+ rows)”Files with 501 or more rows use the batch pipeline:
- Progress shows rows processed with a live percentage.
- Parsing runs server-side; you can leave the tab open until preview loads.
- The original file is archived for re-processing.
Smaller files (≤500 rows) analyze in one pass — often in seconds.
After import
Section titled “After import”Once the import completes, ArborBuddy automatically:
- Creates client, site, and job records in your directory.
- Runs dormant detection against the new data.
- Shows your Recovery dashboard with updated totals.
You can also re-run detection manually from the dashboard.
Tips for clean imports
Section titled “Tips for clean imports”- Include customer name, address/site, job title, and date columns when possible.
- More history = better dormant detection. Import at least 12 months of data for best results.
- Duplicate clients are flagged in Recovery Triage; Crew+ can merge them from the Clients page.

Row counts in a single file are not capped, but total client records are limited by your plan.
